Manzanillo With Bernie and Kathy

Hola friends. So our last post covered highlights of the visit from our dear friends Bernie and Kathy from Oregon. They flew into Guadalajara and enjoyed the District Convention with us. From there we come to this post, which covers the rest of Bernie and Kathy's visit after Guadalajara and local highlights up through mid December.

We brought them back from Guadalajara and showed them around our place.

Hey look he's praying!

Several kittens have adopted the area around our place.  They're still pretty shy.

Precious cargo!

So we mentioned in a previous post that our two English Congregations have combined into one. A great blessing! Bernie and Kathy were there for the announcement. Below was our last meeting together.

They helped us host the whole congregation twice while they were here.

Dane here studies with Leo and Brayan, they graduated to the book "Learn From The Great Teacher"

We took them to our downtown area - "Centro"

These are some seasonal fruits and treats we hadn't seen before.

And of course - Street Tacos

We did a few day trips

Of course we stopped for fresh coconut juice - they just machete the top off and give you a straw.

He was browsing the internet on this special edition digital Tablet ;-)

This is a drink commonly sold around Manzanillo and Colima - men have to climb up to the top of palm trees early in the morning to collect this "Nectar" - they often serve it with a handfull of peanuts thrown in!

Their one month visit was coming to an end...

Lake Chapala is a pretty area near Guadalajara.  It's known for it's migration of white pelicans.

In the morning we were milking cows... in the afternoon we were at the airport.  On December 20th we said our good-byes to Bernie and Kathy. Exactly one month from when they arrived we were at the same spot where we picked them up :-(....  It was tough to say good-bye.  But what a blessing it was to have them visit us!

From the end of December we've been joined with the other hall - together we are now the "Las Brisas Ingles" congregation.  We've been having a great time getting to know everyone!  We'll have more pics up soon of the new group - here's one for now:

We hope you're doing well!
