Our Third Time Begins

Hello Friends!

We got back to Manzanillo the beginning of October. This is our third time returning to Mexico after lots of hard work in Oregon.  Sorry it's taken so long to get a post up, its been very busy since we got back.

Here are a few highlights since we got back, more to come!

We had missed our Mexican family so much.  It was so good to see the Munoz's again.

And of course it was wonderful seeing our calls and studies.

Magnolia and her 2 girls have been studying and going regularly to meetings and just went to the convention!

Melina's Story:
A year ago Dane and I were at the "Mercado" (The local Mexican market) and ran into a local restaurant owner and started chatting.  He asked us why we moved to Mexico and just as Dane started telling him about our volunteer work a woman walked by - she stopped and asked Dane - "Oh, are you Christians?  I've been looking for a church for my daughter."  She couldn't have walked by at that moment if we had planned it!  It was like the angels were moving us all around like chess pieces.  We offered to to come by and talk to her and gave her the "Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" book.  We got her name (Stacy) and her address and made an appointment.

I came out to their home and met her two sweet daughters Melina and Yolanda.  They were both very interested in learning more about the bible.  Melina read everything I brought her - including books.  We talked about studying the book "What does the Bible really teach?" but Melina replied that she had already read the book.  She hadn't looked up the scriptures so she was willing to give it a try.  As we were studying the first chapter we read the paragraph about why injustice and suffering happen.  Melina piped up and said "I know why suffering happens!  I read it in chapter 11.  It's because Satan rules the world!"  I had to pull my jaw off the floor!  Not only had she read the book - she had really gotten the point!  Oh, and did I mention that she's 11 years old?  She has lots of great questions.  Stacy always sits in on the study and has some good questions.  It has been a joy and a privelege to study with all three of them.

Over the summer Brenda took great care of the three of them while we were in the states.  She encouraged Stacy and the girls to try coming to the meetings and they really enjoyed them.  They've been coming regularly for the last several months!

When it was time to leave they tried pushing Dane into the water for one last dip.
They had a tough time but...

Eventually succeeded :-)

September 15th 2012 we celebrated 12 years!

Dane got chocolate glazed New York Strip Steak

We'll try to get another post up soon!

We miss everyone lots!
